In 2010, two car crazy guys, Scott and Mike, decided to start a new car club. One of the guys, Scott, already had the name, the Embalmers, and the slogan in mind for some time and so the Embalmers Car Club was born.
Tuesday night was chosen as our cruise night in Hopewell Jct., NY and the cars started rolling in. We saw hotrods and streetrods, classic cars, ratrods of all kinds - Fords, Chevys, Mopars - and some motorcycles too.
We started developing links to some of our favorite sites like Pop Your Hood that runs the ever popular Bear Mtn. show on Wednesdays. The Jalopy Journal is a very popular place to visit featuring the HAMB forum. The Jalopy Journal says they are "Spreading the gospel of traditional hotrods and kustoms to hoodlums worldwide" and our friend Jim Biron who helps keep everyone informed with Hudson Valley Cruise.com
We've now added a new website at www.taconicnationals.com which deals with our annual car show at James Baird State Park . This year, 2012, will mark our 2nd. annual show and we're expecting it to be bigger and better than last year which turned out great for our first year.
The Tuesday night cruises continue to be a fun time for the entire family with live music and trophies being given out and of course those beautiful hotrods, muscle cars and classics. They're held at the Taconic Plaza on Rte. 52 in Hopewell Jct. C'mon over and join the fun.
So where is our club heading? Well we already have the annual Taconic State Nationals going and we'd really like to get our club known nationwide and beyond. We are always welcoming new members and hope to grow the club considerably. We look forward to having different chapters, really large shows and maybe even a really cool monthly magazine. Here on our site, we feature photos of our members cars which include muscle cars, hot rods, high performance cars along with show photos and videos and a classified section for cars for sale as well as auto parts and auto related businesses. With these recent efforts, we have begun growing and heading in the right direction.
We are also always open to linking situations to add to our growing list. Please visit our link partners at Hudson Valley Cruise.com, Rovin Rods and Classics News.com, The Jalopy Journal.com, Pop Your Hood.com, CT Cruise News.com, Hotrods On The Hudson.com, and Photos From the Hood.com. See ya at the cruise.
